Blessings and Beaches

President Martinez and Elder Nolte

Last Thursday night at about 10:30 p.m. as we were leaving the Institute, Jeff turned to me and said "Are we lucky or what? We get to work with the Young Adults!" We had just spent the evening teaching our English classes and then stayed around for the Karaoke party to start. We just love being with these kids. They are so great! They coaxed Jeff to sing with the karaoke--they had some beatles songs that were in English. It was fun for Jeff and for me (I just lipped standing next to him.) We are so blessed!

It was another busy week. The Olsen's (welfare missionaries who train Stake Presidents and bishops, and orient new couple missionaries) flew into town and we were able to visit and have dinner with them and the other couple missionaries.

And while Jeff tries to track down young adults with the missionaries, I'm going to do some work in the mission home. Two mornings per week, I'll be filling out "registros" and doing other things that come up.

We do are visits on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday's. It's always a bit scarey--trying to find places, and talking with people we don't know (at least for me it is), but we've always felt welcome and felt the spirit with us and with those we visit. We come home afterwards so uplifted.

I spent 3-4 hours at the beach last Thursday with the ladies. It would be the last time for Sister Batt. So beautiful and relaxing. We didn't feel guilty for leaving our husbands behind. Although I'm anxious for Jeff to come cause I know he would love walking along the beach, basking in the sun, and relaxing.

We got together for Family Home Evening last night. We provided the refreshments: my favorite, Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream cones. Jeff gave the lessen. Played Apples to Apples. We're really going to miss the Batt's when they leave to go home next week.

We're trying to not have too much fun. There are still challenges. Can't think of them right now.
